Head on over to createspace.com and have your songs listed on amazon.com's mp3 sales page. Step 5 Communicate Learn as much about your fans and other contacts as you can without being pushy Translation get to know them. You may be surprised at who likes your music and what skills can be had just there. Step 6 Ignore everything mentioned above and customize your music career to fit yourself. Gain 1000+ fans who will buy your music thus allowing you to make a living doing what you enjoy and forget about the record label who won't pay you one penny until after your record has sold at least 1,000,000 copies. Major labels are laying off the A/R reps so there goes artist improvement Pr reps are getting the axe so there goes a good portion of the marketing Producers like Tony Platt and Mick Glossop are looking more and more to the newer companies who do pay the artist and the artist retains all or most rights to their music. So reduced time with professional producers. What is left to make you want to sign with a label and be in debt to them for several years?
