What I mean is do the artists decide how the music is layed out?

is there any record label out there that would sign a young rock band

On all the sites I try to post my original songs, it asks for a current record label. I dont really know what to put if I’m on my own but trying to be discovered.

I can play guitar, sing and play piano. I do practice all the time but i don’t know how to get a label and to get a record deal. Please help me.

Im entering a Talent show for my school and there are gonna be scouts or what not there so I need a smart person to tell me (:

Ok, a few days ago, the band Hawthorne Heights left Victory Records. How long do you think it will be untill they get signed onto another record label?
THEY ARE NOT DONE!!!! and dont try to tell me they are. they’re still a band, and they’re still touring. and who wouldnt want want them on they’re label? watever, you’ll see, they’ll get a new record label

Charles Hamilton is probably the most talented rapper i have heard, but he has gotten dropped from interscope. My guess is he got dropped because he was talkin too much shit bout soulja boy (tellin the truth though lol) He still makes mixtapes, but I would like to see an album from him. Do you think he will be able to get a new record label and easily?

I would love to find out what the best route is in submitting sample demos to big time record labels such as Columbia, Geffen, AM, and others of the like?

Is there a specific mailing address that it should be sent to?

Any help would be appreciated.
Hehe. This question is not PERSONALLY for me. I am in no way, shape or form, in the position or talent caliber, to even phathom that I would be chosen by such popular Record labels. Though I love to sing, Its only done on a very, very. very amateur level, like sub karaoke. lol. So for myself, getting a record deal is not any where in the career horizon. hehe.

But I am asking on behalf of a wonderful friend who I feel deserves a listen. But my friend is a little apprehensive about the process so I wanted to do a lil research.

so im 15 years old i am a really good singer (not to brag)i play guitar and write my own songs.i was thinking of moving to LA.i was also thinking about uploading videos of me singing covers of songs & playing guitar on youtube and upload my songs onto myspace.any info or advice?please.
