I want to use my good quality (expensive) hi-fi rather than a cheap turntable ……

I read on Cnet.com that “audiophiles are finally over CDs”. I don’t know what an audiophile is.

I thought technology was going forward, not backwards.

I thought technology was supposed to advance, not go back. What are the chances of vinyl replacing CDS?
And can you be more specific, Sam?

The reason I ask is there was an article about people who still use turntables and records and decry CDs, MP3s, and Ipods as disposable technology. Are we returning to records and turntables?

I prefer to buy one machine that does both vinyl and tape, and it has to have a turntable since I don’t have one. I also prefer one that will dump the MP3 files onto a flash drive, rather than connecting to a computer or burning a CD. I can’t seem to find any reliable information about these gadgets online.
