I would really like to get signed to Capitol Records, that would just be amazing!

These girls are great at singing and I feel that they have a lot of talent, not to mention they both gorgeous. They made it on the Ellen show and rocked. I feel that someone should be picking these two up and sign them to a record label. Check them out if you’ve never heard them sing before:

Ok. I’m not looking for someone to tell me I’m not good enough, or to tell me to not get my hopes up because I’m aware that it’s very difficult to actually achieve being signed and I’m also aware that the odds are against me. But my friends dad know some people from a record company and they are interested in hearing us. So what do they actually look for in an artist? What become of your music? I’ve heard they can pretty much take over your music. What really happens when you sign a record deal?

I know bow wow got signed, and I know omarion just got dropped, but who is signed to that record label??

First of all what is a music entertainment lawyer specifically (just a few sentences is all i wanna know)… and do you think that knowing music entertainment laywers who have had celebrity clients, might have connections with record labels, music producers, etc, because I have a dream to become a successful recording artist, but if not, i will go to college.

My friend and I have good voices but we haven’t made a song yet, but we want to get signed so how can we do so? What would you recomend as a decent record label?Or what would be our best move from here?

What does being signed to a label entail? are recording hours payed for by the label? do they pay for production and distribution? does it change with every band and their contract?

I guess my basic question is: what advantages does being signed have over being an independent musician/band who distributes and produces the music completely on their own?

A friend of mind who is a singer she writes her own lyrics , and has a producer who produced her tracks that she sings too. If she is signed to a record label do they provide ,and hire a band for her?
She doesn’t have a band ,but she has talent and she knows how to manage her business and represent herself.. Any advice?
