As I already have a turntable is it possible to purchase software and leads for this purpose.I bought a Magix software system for this purpose a few years ago but found it impossible to follow as it was couched in the most technical of terms.
Found excellent software on internet.Polderbits.com.free 2 weeks trial.Dead easy to use.

do they use protools or a better software?

I have the ability to hook up my record player to my computer but am wondering what software I should get to record the tracks with. I love my vinyl but it’s only going to last for a finite time if I continue to spin it.
Unfortunately, my audio is all on the mother board.

I want to make CD-R recordings of some out-of-print cassettes and vinyl records that I already own. This is not to violate copywrite as I don’t go for that – this is simply for personal use. I have some brand new high-end PC’s so, that end I got covered.

What software do I need?
Is it Freeware or commercially available?
How can I enhance the new sound files before creating the CD copies?
Which file format is best?
Should file compression be used?

Do I just plug the playback device directly into my sound card or is there more to it than that?

Or is it better to hire the work done by someone who knows what they are doing?

I am a home user with a AMD/Windows XP machine. I want to transter the music on my old vinyl records to the computer and then to CD. I am a medium level user. Want something easy to use that will give reasonable fidelity.
