I heard awhile back that Vinyl Records tend to sound better then a CD or tape, I’ve listened to vinyl records before but have never actually compared the same songs on vinyl and CD, Has anyone ever heard this before?

I am trying to setup a good sound system to play vinyl records on a budget. What is the best amp to buy?

-TECHNICS SL-BD20D TURNTABLE
-New Turntable Phono Pre-amp, RIAA Transfer Vinyl to CD

My brain has gone slightly into technical overload!
Can any one advise on the best amp and compatible speakers?

I can turn off the speakers, but still hear the sound coming from the turntable. whudafxup with that?

I realize the record grooves are different sizes and/or depths, but how does the needle scraping along the grooves decipher the tone?

Really when I think of it, it is really amazing that so many sounds can fit into an unassuming grove to produce coherent music. How do they do it? What are the physics behind that?

But I do not know how to get rid of it! I hear music and newscasts that fade in and out when ever the speakers are turned on. No applications are running I have no idea where this is coming from.
Is there a way to look for a program that may have installed it self on my computer?
The speakers are fine, not wireless its something on my computer, how can I track it?
