Why do my vinyl records have that popping sound?
I just played a couple of my records and there is a lot of popping. The stylus is brand new so it must be the records. A couple days ago I cleaned all of them using Windex because I read that you can clean them that way. However, I used the blue dye so that might have ruined them. Do you think that the reason for the popping is that the record is dirty or ruined?
Any recording artists that made studio albums with no sound enhancement or filters?
What I mean is no filters to enhance the final master recordings. How it sounds on the record is exactly how it sounded while it was recorded.
Some people say that every instrument on all/most Steely Dan records are the original raw sound, not filtered or enhanced to achieve a certain tone or sound. A couple of early AC/DC’s records w/Bon Scott were also raw.
Does anyone know of other recording artist that used this method to make their records. Any genre is ok, I need a few records/cd’s that have raw sounds.
@ ???– Thanks, I’ll definatly check out all the ones you listed. I’m going to write a plug-in script that will make MP3′s sound like CD’s and Vinyls.
Do vinyl records have better sound quality than CDs?
I’ve heard some people say that vinyl records have better sound quality than normal CDs (CDs bought from a shop I mean, not CDs burnt from MP3s). Is this true?
Do songs from vinyl records sound different when converted to digital files on the computer or put on CDs?
I’m planning on getting my first turntable and buying some vinyl records, mostly to listen to the records themselves but I’d also like to transfer the songs to my computer and put them on my iPod or on CDs. Will the sound quality of the songs change when I convert them to MP3s and burn them to CDs?
