I still listen to them even though I can go out and buy the album on CD. Does anyone else do this?

Do they all just get lucky by knowing someone, or do they submit demo’s like saps like me? Basically, what I’m asking is this: What should I be doing to get my music out there? I live in a quiet, small, secluded community, so I don’t have options to get my name out in clubs or anything. What should I do?

Yeah so I’m in a band and it’s four of us and I was trying to see how much money a major record label usually takes from their artists? You know like 20 %, 40 %…etc
