What is auto-tune (used for recording songs)?

I keep on hearing about auto-tune but I’m still not quite sure what it is. Can anybody help me out?

Also, I know it’s used when artist record in-studio. But does it work live? Like can they pull it onstage and plug the mic into auto-tune?

I was hoping to find out some information about used vinyl record stores in Russia, Moscow. I am going there this week and looking for some titles on the Melodiya label – I am interested in Jazz, Rock and other styles of music, but looking for informations (names or addresses or areas)
about record stores in Moscow. I really hope you can help me. I am only looking for old records, not CDs. are thre markets? someone told me they saw some stores there a while back but had no further info on it. Can someone help?
is that a street with record stores? or just a market?

Has anyone had any luck cleaning termite mud/waste from vinyl records? What can be used? Anything? Nothing?

I found a box of vinyl records from the 60′s,70′s and 80′s, unfortunately, the termites found them long before I did. They ate most of the cardboard album covers, and left their residue all over the records. I am sure this has happened to others…did you make an attempt at cleaning, did you have any luck with anything at all? Looking pretty bleak for these old treasures.

And she used it while the girl was on stage in the pimped out wheelchair. I figured maybe the girl won a contest or something, but what was the cane about for Lady GaGa? And what’s your opinion about her performance? I thought it was GREAT!!! So different and artistic!

I was wondering about this the other day: let’s say that I take a bunch of old CD’s into a used “buy/sell” CD store and someone else eventually buys my old cd’s. Do the record companies and artists receive any sort of royalty profits from those used CD sales?
