My computer has news reports and random music playing without me having anything open, why?

I am on the computer and when i turn on my speakers random music from opera to country to rock is playing. i have no internet, no lime wire, no itunes or AIM open. absolutely nothing. news reports from barack obama to hillary clinton’s senate seat are playing in the back ground, just the sound. its driving me crazy! what is causing this?? what can i do??

What is the best and cheapest way to clean vinyl records and the stylus without buying commercial solvents?

I live in a country that has less than a handful of records stores, and commercially available solvents and cleaners and other cleaning equipment are few and far between. The only way to clean them is to take them to the record store that has a cleaning machine, but that is expensive and recently someone just gave me half a hundred records that have not been cleaned in a couple decades. Is there a good method to clean records with home (household) solvents or stuf available at home? Also, what is the best way to clean a stylus?

I live in a dorm room and don’t have the space for a full stereo set. However I do have a nice Harmon Kardon 2.1 speaker set that I plug my laptop in to that uses 1/8″ jack. I don’t need to take stuff off of my LP’s to computer, I just want to listen to it for the most part. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
